Celebrating Our Gullah Roots

Did you make it to the Gullah Festival this year? If you didn't, you really missed a great time. We have been away from each other for two years. It felt so good to be back together at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront in Beaufort, SC. The crowd, entertainers and vendors were a sight to see. Being at the Gullah Festival just feels like being with family.

Thomas Roy Hicks, President, really has his hands full every year. He has a team of volunteers who are dedicated, but often need encouragement. As a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, we are always thinking about ways to raise funds so we can give you the best event possible. This year the Festival entrance was free. It was our way of saying, thank you and welcome back! We are especially thankful to those who found it in their hearts to donate to the Festival. Your donations allow us to function.

As we begin to prepare for 2023, we will reflect on this past festival and make the next one even better. We know we have some kinks to work out and that we can't please everybody. For now, we are holding on to the smiles we saw and the positive feedback we've been given. If you would like to make a donation, go to our #Sponsors tab and click on the Donation button. See you in 2023!
